There are so many songs about being home for the holidays, reminiscing about snow falling on Christmas Day, and gathering around the dinner table with your family. It's beautiful.

And also unrelatable if you're not able to get home to be with your family for Christmas.

We haven't spent Christmas with our parents and siblings in many years. We've had to make our own version of the holidays overseas: celebrating with friends and strangers, making new memories, all the while missing our families.
